Hydrafacial Great for Acne and Unexpected Breakouts

Joseph Coupal - Tuesday, June 11, 2013

You may have heard of this new phenomenon The Hydrafacial, but until you try it, you really don't get just how amazing it is. We have clients all of the time who unexpectedly break out and call us for help. One of the most common treatments we recommend for these breakouts and acne is a Hydrafacial. It just sweeps the entire face sucking out the dirt and oil in a gentle motion that feels like a wet paintbrush. After the cleansing, they Hydrafacial is switched into mode 2 where hydrating serums infuse deep into the skin. The third step is the infusion of anti-aging serums. We have had people actually clear up right after the first Hydrafacial procedure. If paired with a good home care routine which we will advise you on, the Hydrafacial is a great solution for unexpected acne breakouts.

A Word from Our Patient About Botox...

Joseph Coupal - Monday, June 03, 2013

I could not be happier with the results of my botox treatment at Dream Spa Medical. At 26 years old, I always hear that I am “too young for botox” however I feel that this just a misconception of what botox actually is and what it does! I furrow my forehead/eyebrows CONSTANTLY!

When I catch myself, I try to correct it but within seconds I forget and my 11’s are back! At this rate, in 10 years from now I will probably have 11’s as deep as the Grand Canyon! With botox treatment, I am physically unable to make my 11’s appear which in turn will help prevent deep wrinkles in the future and the need for more pricey injections of fillers to correct the wrinkles that I have caused by years of furrowing my forehead! With a little preventative botox, I’m saving myself more money and procedures years down the line!

Thanks Dream Spa Medical, you will definitely be seeing me again!

Stacey's Botox Testimonial

Joseph Coupal - Thursday, May 30, 2013

I never thought the day would be here that I would have to worry about wrinkles on my face. I am 37 years old and take very good care of my skin. I constantly stared in the mirror at the folds in my forehead. I feel so young.. yet the folds made me feel so old. I was constantly staring at myself in the mirror thinking.. "I am way to young to look older".

I knew from friends that Botox was an option for the folds. I put off doing anything about it until Dream Spa Medical was established. It is close to my office which gave me the push to take advantage of a free consultation.

The worries I had before my consultation were.

  • Would a licensed professional be injecting the Botox into my skin
  • How painful would it be.
  • Could I afford this "luxury" procedure.

After my consult at Dream Spa Medical I immediately booked my Botox procedure . I cannot put into the appropriate words how happy I am.. and how amazing such a small, non surgical procedure could change how I feel about myself.

The procedure was so easy, so painless, so quick and so affordable. Within 3 days I felt 10 years younger.

My family and friends that knew I was having the procedure done are amazed by the results. The best part for me is that it looks and feels so natural. No one will be able to look at me and say.. "Wow she just had Botox". They will just wonder what my secret is to looking so young.

A Word from Our Patient About the Hydra Facial...

Joseph Coupal - Tuesday, May 21, 2013

I'm going to try and make this as short as possible, then again that's impossible because there is so much to say… HERE GOES NOTHING FUTURE HYDRAFACIAL -LOVERS!

So there was a point in my life when I had pretty bad acne and then it all cleared up and everything was great, one of those 'WOW, FINALLY I LOVE MY SKIN' moments … And then I randomly broke out a horrible amount- clogged pores everything. If you're wondering if I had a panic attack? DING DING DING!!! Correct- Panic attack of the century. Don't know if it was a hormonal thing or an allergic reaction but either way I was horrified, and my skin looked awful. I'm honest about my skin, it is something I can be insecure about but it's nothing I can't talk about. I went to Dream Spa Medical, walked in and said 'FIX ME PLEASE'. This seems dramatic, but the clogged pores, red skin, acne-look just isn't for me. The drama was necessary when the summer is coming up, and I just want smooth, nice skin … Not trying to wear makeup to the gym because my skin is THAT bad. And let me just mention once more, OH IT WAS. IT WAS BAD.

One of the nurses told me to first of all relax… I didn't relax. Moral of the story- I got the HydraFacial and it was UNBELIEVABLE. I wouldn't waste my time typing about this- let alone harassing all my friends to get one if it wasn't as amazing as it was. First your skin is cleaned (you have to love the massage). And then there is this massive machine, which looks pretty legit.

A suction thing is placed on your face and you can LITERALLY feel the dirt getting sucked out of your skin. Imagine clogged pores- all just being sucked out by this machine. AND THAT'S NOT ALL... While all the dirt and oil is being TAKEN OUT of your skin, the machine is infusing nutrients and acne-fighting skin solutions into your skin WHERE THERE IS NO LONGER DIRT AND OILS. There were about 3 of these little suction things which all did something different but AMAZING for your skin. The last 'suction' that you get infuses water and moisture into your skin … did I fail to mention my skin is dry too? This procedure was unbelievable, you would think you wouldn't see results right away but you do. Immediately when the procedure was done you could see that my skin looked fresh. It wasn't red and blotchy but FRESH AND CLEAN. HydraFacial was the best thing that's ever happened to my skin (Thank you Dream Spa Medical crew. THANK YOU!!!! )

Maybe You Don’t Know How Amazing a HydraFacial Really Is?

Joseph Coupal - Tuesday, May 14, 2013

The HydraFacial is a resurfacing procedure that thoroughly cares for your skin. It provides cleansing, exfoliation, extractions, and hydration. It is a non-invasive, non-surgical procedure that delivers instant results with no discomfort or downtime. It cleans all the dirt and oil out of the skin, while infusing nutrients. The procedure is immediately effective. Do you have oily skin? Acne? Sun damage? Hyper- pigmentation? The HydraFacial is for you if you have any of these problems.

What is Botox?

Joseph Coupal - Tuesday, May 07, 2013

What is BOTOX® Cosmetic? BOTOX® has been used therapeutically for more than 17 years to treat a variety of medical conditions. It is approved in more than 75 countries and remains the most-studied botulinum toxin and one of the most widely researched medicines in the world. In 2002, the same formulation - under the label BOTOX® Cosmetic - was approved by the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for treatment of moderate to severe frown lines between the brows in people ages 18 to 65.

What causes frown lines between the brows? The lines that appear between your brows actually result from muscle movement and the passage of time. When powerful muscles between the brows contract, they draw the brows together, causing the skin to fold or furrow. As skin becomes less elastic with age, those folds or furrows result in stubborn lines.

How does BOTOX® Cosmetic work? During treatment, very low doses of BOTOX® Cosmetic
are administered via a few tiny injections directly into the muscles responsible for frown lines between the brows. By blocking the release of a chemical that causes these muscles to contract, BOTOX® Cosmetic
enables them to relax. The effects are very localized and, when administered by an experienced physician, do not affect your ability to smile, laugh, or otherwise show expression.

Sunscreen Tips and SPF

Joseph Coupal - Monday, April 29, 2013

Summer is right around the corner. Make sure you are prepared to keep your skin safe! Here is some information on sun block!

What is SPF?

Sun Protection Factor, or SPF, is determined experimentally indoors by exposing human subjects to a light spectrum meant to mimic the sun. Some subjects wear sunscreen and others do not. The amount of light that induces redness in sunscreen-protected skin, divided by the amount of light that induces redness in unprotected skin is the SPF. (A sunblock with an SPF of 15 will delay the onset of sunburn for an average person by 150 minutes).

What should I look for when buying a sun block?

SPF only refers to UVB rays, and UVA rays are just as dangerous. Make sure your sun block says “Broad Spectrum” on the bottle. This means it protects you from both types of UV rays. The best type of sun block is zinc oxide or titanium dioxide.

How much sun block should you apply?

About a shot glass size for your body and a teaspoon for your face. Make sure you apply it 30 minutes before going into the sun.

How often should you apply sun block?

Apply sun block every two hours when outside. If you are swimming or sweating, apply sun block more often, even if the bottle says “waterproof.”

Is last year’s sun block still good?

Sun block should be worn year round, but if you only use it seasonally, you should buy a new sun block bottle every year. Ingredients in products can break down, especially if they aren’t stored properly.
